About me:

My name is Aidan Grennen and I am a game designer, I specialize in level design and systems design. I went to Champlain College for Game Design and I just graduated with the class of 2016.

My design philosophy when designing game systems is about breaking down each system and analyzing their interactions. When a games systems are broken down to their simplest form you can see how they work together to create an experience, the designer can then add or remove systems to reach the intended experience they want the player to have. I often draw from my own real life experiences for inspiration on how to craft an experience I want the player to have.  I also apply this philosophy to level design, great levels in video games utilize everything from lighting and sound to item and enemy placement in order to create a certain experience for players.

I tend to be a pretty laid back guy and I love to make people laugh because I love the sound of laughter. I’m a huge live music fan, I am constantly going to shows or streaming shows in my spare time. I use music to relax and clear my mind, no matter what I’m feeling I can find music to match. My other interests include: karate, skateboarding (not at the same time unfortunately) and of course video games. I love first and third person shooters as well as RPGs, action games, and rhythm games. I am a pretty competitive person so I love multiplayer games as much as single player games. The games I am currently playing are:

Single Player

  • Painkiller (PC)
  • Batman Arkham Knight (Xbox One)
  • Fallout 4 (Xbox One)

  • Overwatch (Xbox One)
  • League of Legends (PC)
  • Halo 5 (Xbox One)
